Kailee Goertzen is a recent 2021 graduate of the Faculty of ALES with a degree in Conservation and Environmental Science and a major in Conservation Biology. Prior to graduating, Kailee was a research assistant in the Soil and Plant Relations (SPR) Lab. In the SPR Lab, Kailee worked as a research assistant for just under two years at the University of Alberta Breton Field Plots assisting on a PhD project studying biochar and its effects on agricultural soils. In their future, they hope to pursue a master’s in Soil Science.
Kailee’s interests include camping, hiking, skiing, and spending their time in the mountains. On the weekends, Kailee works at an animal hospital and has two cats of their own named Sam and Alfie.
